DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania – The Government of Tanzania has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Singapore, particularly in trade, aviation, fisheries, tourism, and technology.

The Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade, Denis Londo, held talks with Singapore’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Douglas Foo, on February 23, 2026, at the Ministry of Industry and Trade sub-office in Dar es Salaam.

The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in trade and investment while strengthening the long-standing diplomatic relationship between the two nations.

During the meeting, Tanzania emphasized its appreciation for the strong bilateral ties and acknowledged Singapore’s global excellence in manufacturing, international trade systems, fisheries management, aviation infrastructure, tourism development, and technological innovation.

The Deputy Minister noted that Tanzania has made significant strides in improving its trade and investment environment through policy reforms and business-friendly initiatives. However, the country remains committed to learning from Singapore’s development model to accelerate growth and competitiveness.

For Tanzania’s tourism sector, closer cooperation could contribute to improved aviation connectivity, logistics efficiency, cruise tourism development, and digital transformation in tourism marketing and investment promotion.

The engagement reflects Tanzania’s broader strategy to strengthen international partnerships and position itself as a competitive hub for trade, tourism, and investment in Africa.
