Tanzania Records Strong Milestone at FITUR 2026 Tourism Trade Fair in Madrid
Tanzania has successfully concluded its participation in the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR 2026), which closed on January 26 in Madrid, marking a significant milestone for Destination Tanzania.

Tanzania’s delegation and exhibition at FITUR 2026 demonstrated stronger engagement than previous years. Private sector participation more than doubled—rising from 20 tourism agents in 2025 to 45 agents in 2026—reflecting growing confidence and collaboration within the industry.

The Tanzania stand showcased world-class tourism offerings through coordinated efforts by key stakeholders, including Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), Tanzania National Parks, Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, Zanzibar Commission for Tourism, Tanzania Lodge Operators Association, and Tanzania Association of Tour Operators.

During the fair, Tanzania held high-level engagements with international airlines and representatives from UN Tourism, focusing on strengthening destination connectivity, infrastructure development, and global market positioning.

Mr. James Nanyaro, Coordinator of the Tanzania Lodge Operators Association, commended the strong government–private sector synergy and emphasized the importance of earlier preparations for future global tourism platforms.

With more than 10,000 companies from over 160 countries in attendance, Tanzania leaves Madrid with valuable business leads, renewed momentum, and a unified vision to advance sustainable tourism growth and global competitiveness.
