Londorossi Gate
After registration, drive to the trailhead and begin trekking through dense rainforest filled with giant trees and wildlife.
Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp (Big Tree Camp – 2,650m).

Around midnight, begin the challenging ascent to Stella Point and onward to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) — Africa’s highest point.
After celebrating at the summit and witnessing sunrise above the clouds, descend to Millennium Camp (3,820m) for overnight rest.

How difficult is the Lemosho Route?
The Lemosho Route is considered moderately challenging. No technical climbing is required, but it is physically demanding due to long hiking days and high altitude. Good fitness and mental preparation are important.
What is the success rate?
The 8-day Lemosho itinerary has one of the highest summit success rates (85–95%) because of its excellent acclimatization profile. The extra days allow your body to adjust gradually to altitude.
Do I need prior climbing experience?
No technical mountaineering skills are needed. However, prior multi-day hiking experience and endurance training are highly recommended.
When is the best time to climb Mount Kilimanjaro?
The best months are:
January – March (cooler, fewer climbers)
June – October (dry season, clearer skies)
Rainy seasons (April–May and November) are less ideal due to slippery trails.
How cold does it get?
Temperatures vary by altitude:
Rainforest: 15–25°C
High camps: -5 to -10°C at night
Summit night: Can drop below -15°C
Proper layered clothing is essential.
What kind of accommodation is provided?
During the trek, you stay in high-quality mountain tents.
Before and after the climb, hotel accommodation in Moshi/Arusha can be arranged at an extra cost.

Altitude affects everyone differently. Symptoms can include headache, nausea, and fatigue. The Lemosho Route’s gradual ascent greatly reduces risk.

What is summit day like?
Summit night begins around midnight from Barafu Camp. The climb to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) on Mount Kilimanjaro takes 6–8 hours uphill in cold, windy conditions.
It is the most challenging but also the most rewarding day of the trek.
