Overview

Begin your 4-day Tanzania safari in Tarangire National Park, a destination known for its dramatic landscapes and impressive elephant populations. The park is famous for its giant baobab trees and wide savannahs where wildlife gathers along the Tarangire River. Large herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and numerous bird species can often be seen during game drives. Tarangire offers a classic African safari setting and a perfect introduction to Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit.

On the second day, travel toward the legendary Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations. The Serengeti’s vast plains stretch to the horizon and support one of the highest concentrations of wildlife on the continent. Lions, cheetahs, elephants, and large herds of wildebeests and zebras roam freely across the savannah. Game drives here offer exceptional opportunities to observe predators and herbivores in their natural environment.

The journey continues to the remarkable Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Descending into the crater reveals a natural wildlife sanctuary where animals live within a unique and protected ecosystem. Visitors often encounter elephants, buffalo, lions, and a variety of birdlife around the crater lakes, including flamingos and other waterbirds. The stunning scenery and high wildlife density make Ngorongoro one of the highlights of any Tanzania safari.

On the final day, explore Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic park famous for its diverse habitats including forest, lake shores, and open grasslands. The park is well known for its tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, and thousands of flamingos that gather along the lake during certain seasons. Lake Manyara provides a beautiful and relaxing conclusion to the safari before returning to Arusha.
