6-Day Marangu Route Adventure Climb – Mount Kilimanjaro
A legendary ascent to Africa’s highest peak via the historic Marangu Route — the only Kilimanjaro trail offering comfortable mountain huts. Known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” this path combines gradual slopes, scenic forests, alpine landscapes, and a rewarding summit at Uhuru Peak.

Arrive in Arusha/Moshi, where you will meet your mountain guide for a detailed briefing and gear check.
Relax at your lodge and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Overnight in Arusha.

DAY 2: Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut
DAY 2: Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut
Transfer to Marangu Gate for registration before beginning your climb.
Hike through lush rainforest filled with towering trees and playful colobus monkeys.
Reach Mandara Hut for dinner and overnight.
Elevation: 1,870m to 2,700m
Hiking Time: 4–5 hours

DAY 3: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut
DAY 3: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut
Leave the rainforest behind and enter the moorland zone, where giant lobelias and dramatic landscapes dominate.
Enjoy magnificent views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks before arriving at Horombo Hut.
Elevation: 2,700m to 3,720m
Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.

DAY 4: Horombo Hut – Acclimatization Day

A crucial day for acclimatization.
Take a short hike toward Zebra Rocks (approx. 4,000m) before returning to Horombo Hut. This helps your body adjust to altitude and improves summit success rates.
Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.

DAY 5: Horombo Hut – Kibo Hut

Traverse the alpine desert landscape known as “The Saddle” between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks.
Arrive at Kibo Hut and rest early in preparation for the midnight summit attempt.
Elevation: 3,720m to 4,700m
Hiking Time: 5–6 hours
Early dinner and short rest.

DAY 6: Summit – Uhuru Peak – Descend to Marangu Gate – Return to Arusha/Moshi

Around midnight, begin your summit push toward Uhuru Peak (5,895m) — the Roof of Africa.
Witness an unforgettable sunrise above the clouds before celebrating your achievement at the summit sign.
Descend back to Horombo Hut for rest, then continue to Marangu Gate where you receive your climbing certificate before transfer back to Arusha.
Overnight in Arusha or departure as scheduled.
