Northern Tanzania Big Five Escape – 3 Days Safari

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and begin your adventure towards Tarangire National Park. The drive takes approximately 3–4 hours along scenic landscapes. Tarangire is famous for its ancient baobab trees, sweeping savannahs, and impressive elephant herds that gather along the Tarangire River — the park’s main water source during the dry season. During your game drive, look out for giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, antelopes, and predators such as lions and leopards. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with afternoon wildlife viewing. Later, transfer to your lodge in the Karatu/Ngorongoro area for relaxation. After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, located at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. The park is known for its diverse habitats, including groundwater forests, open plains, and the alkaline lake that attracts thousands of flamingos and other bird species. During your game drive, you may encounter monkeys, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, elephants, and — if lucky — the famous tree-climbing lions. Visit the hot springs known as Maji Moto and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature before returning to your lodge in the Ngorongoro highlands. After an early breakfast, descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater — a UNESCO World Heritage Site often referred to as a natural wildlife sanctuary. Formed millions of years ago by a massive volcanic eruption, the crater covers approximately 260 km² and hosts an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. Enjoy up to six hours of game viewing, with excellent chances of spotting the Big Five, including the endangered black rhino. The crater floor features savannah plains, acacia forests, lakes, and wetlands that support a rich variety of species. After your safari, ascend the crater walls and transfer back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport, marking the end of your adventure.
