Your adventure begins at Momella Gate in Arusha National Park, where you complete park formalities and meet your mountain crew and armed ranger. The trek starts through lush grasslands and montane forest, an area rich in wildlife. It’s common to see giraffes, buffalos, warthogs, and colobus monkeys along the trail. The hike is steady and scenic, leading to Miriakamba Hut, where you settle in for dinner and overnight. This day allows your body to begin adjusting to altitude while enjoying the park’s unique safari-on-foot experience.

After breakfast, the trail continues uphill through forest and open moorland toward Saddle Hut, located between Mount Meru and Little Meru. The landscape gradually changes, offering expansive views and cooler temperatures. Wildlife sightings are still possible along the way. In the afternoon, you may take a short acclimatization hike toward Little Meru, helping your body adapt to the altitude. Dinner and overnight at Saddle Hut prepare you for the summit attempt.

An early morning start (around midnight) marks the most challenging and rewarding day. After photos and rest, you descend carefully back to Saddle Hut for a short break, then continue down to Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight.
