7-Day Birth to the Wild (the Classic Calving Season)

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly greeted by our professional safari guide and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha. During the drive, you can enjoy views of the surrounding landscapes and get your first glimpse of Tanzania’s vibrant culture. Once at your lodge or hotel, you will have time to unwind, freshen up, and relax, preparing for the exciting safari adventure that lies ahead.

After breakfast, you will be picked up from Arusha and drive 2 to 3 hours to Tarangire National Park, passing scenic landscapes and Maasai villages along the way. Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds and iconic ancient baobab trees. Upon arrival, enjoy a game drive to spot lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a variety of birds. A picnic lunch will be served in the park before continuing your safari. In the late afternoon, transfer to your lodge near the park for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic park at the base of the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy a game drive through its diverse landscapes, from lush forests to open grasslands and along the shores of Lake Manyara, famous for its flamingos. Spot a variety of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, baboons, wildebeest, and buffaloes. The park is also home to over 400 bird species, making it a paradise for bird watchers.

After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a morning game drive, exploring this wildlife-rich UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spot lions, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, and, with luck, the elusive black rhino. Later in the afternoon, continue your journey to Ndutu for an evening game drive, exploring the plains famous for their abundant wildlife and seasonal wildebeest calving. Check in at your lodge or tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in the Ndutu area, located in the southern Serengeti. This region is famous for its seasonal wildebeest calving (December to March) and abundant wildlife. Spend the day tracking herds of wildebeest, zebras, gazelles, and observing predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. Ndutu’s open plains, acacia woodlands, and seasonal lakes provide excellent photographic opportunities and unforgettable wildlife encounters. A picnic lunch will be served in the bush, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Serengeti. In the late afternoon, continue your game drive before returning to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today, start early with a sunrise game drive, when wildlife is most active, for an exhilarating morning of animal sightings. The game drive continues until noon, after which you’ll enjoy lunch before departing for Ngorongoro. In the evening, arrive at your lodge for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay, enjoying the warm hospitality and peaceful surroundings as you prepare for the adventures ahead.

After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive with a picnic lunch. Known for its high density of wildlife, the crater offers chances to see wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, elephants, and, with luck, black rhinos. In the afternoon, transfer directly to Arusha or Kilimanjaro airport.
