6-Day Big Five Safari, Materuni Waterfalls & Coffee Tour

Our driver will pick you up from the airport and drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. Here, you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come. The first day's excursion includes a tour of the city's sights. The local markets, Maasai market, Cultural Heritage Museum, and Arusha City Museum are all part of the city excursion. Later in the evening, you will be briefed on your tour and can enjoy the sunset view.

We pick you up from your hotel at 8:00 am, and after meeting your guide, we will drive for 2 hours to Tarangire National Park, which is famous for its diverse landscape. The park is particularly known for its abundance of ancient baobab trees and having the largest concentration of elephants in the country. It provides unique chances to observe the interaction between elephant families. We will do a game drive depending on where there are reported sightings of animals (mostly predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as they are harder to spot). Giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, and many other animals can be seen throughout the park. We will go to the picnic site and enjoy the beautiful view of the river and wildlife while having lunch. Small monkeys and baboons may try to steal your lunch, but there is nothing to worry about. After lunch, we will continue with the afternoon game drive before exiting the park around 5:30 pm. We will then drive to Eileen's Trees Inn for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will drive from Karatu to Serengeti, which takes 4 to 5 hours (including all stops) as it transits through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will briefly stop at the gate and viewpoint to look at the breathtaking view of the crater, which will take 20 minutes. Arrive in Serengeti National Park in the late afternoon and do a game drive in Seronera (the center of Serengeti). We will experience the sunset in Serengeti while having a close view of wild animals. If we're lucky, we will see predators hunting or on a kill. Later, we head to Tukaone Serengeti Camp.

After an early breakfast, we will go on an early game drive south of Serengeti toward Seronera. We will exit the Serengeti National Park in the late afternoon. We will head to Ngorongoro Coffee Lodge for relaxation and an overnight stay. You can visit the Maasai village to learn about their culture (20 to 45 minutes). This optional visit is not included in the price.

After an early breakfast, we will depart from our lodge for a drive via the Rift Valley to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro Highlands. The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, was formed by a massive volcano, higher than Kilimanjaro, that exploded 2 to 3 million years ago. It is almost 20km wide and approximately 600m deep. The crater is known for its large variety of wildlife, including the Big Five - lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, and leopards. It is well-known as one of the Natural Wonders of the World. In addition to the Big Five, the various springs attract wildebeest, gazelle, reedbuck, and more than 500 bird species. We will have a scrumptious lunch at the picnic site before enjoying more game viewing in the crater. In the afternoon, we will leave the crater and drive up the steep, winding track on our way back to Arusha.

Experience Tanzania's natural environment during this all-day trip to Materuni and a Coffee Farm Tour. It is perfect for adventurous, cultural, and active travelers in the area. Take a hike to the Materuni Waterfalls and stop for a swim afterwards. After that, visit a nearby farm to discover more about Tanzania's coffee sector. After refreshments, you will drive to the airport for departure or back to Arusha, depending on your schedule.
