Overview
Gombe National Park is a national park in Tanzania, located in the Kigoma District of the Kigoma Region. It was formerly called Gombe Stream National Park.
You will be picked up early in the morning by our representative from Tiem Tours and Safaris at your hotel, where you are staying, for transfer to Kibilizi Ferry, but this is not included in the package. After that, your transfer will depart from Kibilizi Ferry to Gombe Stream National Park (16 km/approximately 3.5 hrs) through Lake Tanganyika, offering a scenic journey with views of wildlife and landscapes and a chance to experience the park from a different perspective.

Day 1: Gombe National park
Day 1: Gombe National park
Upon arrival and after park check-in, you will dive into nature. Gombe National Park is a truly unique destination, primarily famous for its chimpanzee population and the pioneering research of Dr. Jane Goodall. Gombe is rich in primate diversity; beyond chimpanzees, you'll encounter other primates like olive baboons, red colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and vervet monkeys. Your forest guides have extensive experience with the forest and chimpanzees.
You'll enjoy an authentic lunch at a restaurant in the afternoon. After lunch, if you have time, you'll continue with a forest walk to see another attraction like Kikumba Falls or Makanga Falls and climb to Jane Peak for an unforgettable view of the park, looking like the green of Gombe Forest. Then, you'll start back to the headquarters for the transfer to Kigoma town. After arriving back in Kigoma town, you'll enjoy a transfer back to your hotel with memories and smiles from the unique park in Tanzania, Hakuna Matata!
