Day 1 – Arusha / Tarangire

Your safari begins with a drive to Tarangire National Park, well known for its huge herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as cheetah and leopard. Your driver/guide is an expert and will explain to you the ecology and habits of the animals and birds around you. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in Tarangire Park.

Day 2 – Tarangire / Ngorongoro

After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro. Arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon at leisure. Enjoy the view and surroundings of your lodge.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact collapsed volcano. Today we descend 2,000 feet into the crater by 4-wheel-drive vehicle for a full-day safari. Over 30,000 animals live within this enormous natural bowl, the most densely packed concentration of wildlife in Africa. You should see wildebeest, elephant, lion, black rhino, warthog, buffalo, zebra, gazelle, hyena, and many more. Late afternoon return to the lodge.

After breakfast, proceed to Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge (optional), where Professor Louis Leakey discovered some of the earliest evidence of human existence in Africa. Continue to Serengeti National Park.

The Maasai word Serengeti means “endless plains,” a perfect description of this magnificent area of over 6,000 square miles. Vast open wildlife corridors allow animals to roam freely. Enjoy a full-day game drive in Serengeti.

In the morning, drive to Lake Manyara National Park. In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive where you are likely to encounter the park’s famous tree-climbing lions.
