Day Trip To Nyerere National Park By Air

Day 1: Zanzibar - Nyerere National Park - Zanzibar

Our day begins with clients making their own way to Zanzibar Airport’s domestic terminal in the early morning for check-in. After boarding a light aircraft, you enjoy a scenic one-hour flight to Nyerere National Park, landing at one of the park’s bush airstrips, Mtemere. Upon arrival, your safari guide welcomes you and you immediately begin a full game-drive experience in an open 4x4 vehicle. Throughout the morning and early afternoon, you explore the park’s riverbanks, woodlands, and plains while searching for elephants, lions, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birds. Around midday, you stop for a picnic bush lunch before continuing with more wildlife viewing in different parts of the park. By mid-afternoon, you start making your way back toward the airstrip with opportunities for final sightings. You then board your return flight to Zanzibar, usually departing between 15:30 and 16:00. After landing back at Zanzibar Airport, clients again make their own onward arrangements, concluding the day trip.
