President Samia Participates in Kizimkazi Festival 2026
ZANZIBAR: President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, participated in the Kizimkazi Festival 2026 held on August 13, 2026, in Kizimkazi Village, South Unguja Region, Zanzibar.
The President’s participation highlighted the national importance of the festival as a platform for promoting tourism, culture, community development and investment opportunities in Zanzibar and Tanzania.
The Kizimkazi Festival brings together government institutions, tourism stakeholders, businesses, local communities and visitors to celebrate Zanzibar’s rich cultural heritage while showcasing tourism attractions and economic opportunities.
The 2026 edition featured various activities, including cultural performances, music, traditional food exhibitions, sports and business exhibitions, providing opportunities for local entrepreneurs and communities to engage with visitors and potential investors.
The festival also serves as an important platform for promoting Tanzania’s tourism attractions and conservation initiatives. Government institutions, including the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), participated through exhibitions aimed at creating awareness of conservation, tourism and investment opportunities available within Tanzania’s national parks and cultural heritage sites.
President Samia’s participation further underscores the government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote tourism, preserve cultural heritage and create economic opportunities for communities.
The Kizimkazi Festival continues to strengthen the connection between Zanzibar and mainland Tanzania, attracting participants and visitors from across the country and abroad while positioning Kizimkazi as an important destination for cultural tourism and community-based economic development.
