The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has invited French companies and investors to consider investing in Zanzibar’s key economic sectors, particularly tourism.
Speaking at the State House in Zanzibar during a meeting with the French Ambassador to Tanzania, Anne Sophie, President Mwinyi said Zanzibar offers strong potential for productive and sustainable investments.
He noted that the discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and bilateral relations between Zanzibar and France, especially in areas that support economic growth and development.
President Mwinyi emphasized that Zanzibar is seeking committed investors with sufficient capital and long-term vision to help strengthen the workforce, enhance expertise, and improve service delivery within the tourism sector.
“Zanzibar is a good ground for productive and sustainable investments,” he said.
He further highlighted the importance of strategic investments in advancing the blue economy, which remains a priority area for Zanzibar’s development agenda.
The engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to attract international investors and reinforce Zanzibar’s position as a competitive tourism and investment destination in the region.
